Lending a helping hand has a way of making the person needing help and the helper feel fulfilled. Everyone wins! Write down every time you help someone this week. Then celebrate, with thanksgiving, at the end of the week.
helpful: (1) Making it easier to do a job, deal with a problem, etc. (2) Giving help. (3) Willing to help other people. (definition from merriam-webster.com)
I know this to be true…from both sides! When I help someone along the way, it feels as good as getting someone to help me when I’m in need. God invented help, I do believe!
Thanks for these little “gems” of thought!!!

I agree! Helping is one of the best ways to show and receive love. Thank you so much for all your insightful comments!
I forgot who said “If you want to feel better about yourself, start by doing good for another.”
It is so true, at least I believe it to be. We can do more for ourselves emotionally when we do good for others. Funny how it seems that God has told us that very thing!
Talk to you later,

I have always loved to help people, and am very thankful for God giving me that special trait! 🙂 So that I can serve him!
That is the heart he desires everyone to have. You’ve got a special talent of serving. 🙂
Why thank you! You have a great talent too, of inspiring people like me!
Thanks! 😀
Some of us resist help from others. Perhaps because we have not experienced much of it, help feels uncomfortable to us. We think ourselves undeserving of it or “dependent” when we’d prefer to feel independent (and in control).
As another reader pointed out, however, allowing others to help us blesses them, as well as us. They get to exercise — and grow — kindness and generosity. We get a much needed helping hand. Everybody wins. 🙂
I can definitely relate to that. Pride does play a big role in rejecting help. It is beautiful when all parties are blessed by a helpful deed.
