Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. (Philippians 2:3-4, Read the whole passage. It’s awesome!)
There is a film called Living on One Dollar that beautifully shows how love that is not self-seeking goes a long way. Poverty is a problem in every nation. I was touched by the genuine generosity of the people featured in the film. They supported one another as a community by sharing what little they had to fulfill the need of each person, without expecting anything in return. The moment we desire something in return for a gift, we invite a spirit of selfish ambition into our hearts. If we can give our best to help those in need, whatever the need may be, we will be on our way to banishing selfish hearts. Each day let’s seize the moment to give our very best in the hope to improve the life of another. Give your best! Give your heart! Love is not self-seeking! (1 Corinthians 13:5)
This is great, Shannon! I also just finished listening to a sermon by Joyce Meyers about living a life that is focused on God and not on yourself. I have been working hard to live a life of purpose and service to others.
Me too. I find it hard to give without expecting something is return. I have to check out Joyce. I think I may have briefly listened t her.
She is great! She speaks to my soul. I also listen to TD Jakes (of course!), his daughter Sarah Jakes and her husband Toure Roberts. The 3 of them deliver sermons so moving, it speaks to me every time.
Nice. I’ve been stuck on Tony Evans. I need some new people to listen so I’m glad you shared that with me!
It is more about giving instead of receiving!
Amen to that!
Another very good message for both self-improvement and Godliness. You are moving right along with your faith, Shannon! Good for you…

Thanks Steve!
Hey Shannon. Have a very good day today. Let me know how you are doing, and the family as well.
Did you ever make the move you talked about? It’s been a while since we talked…

We are all good! Feel free to email me. For some reason the emails I send you don’t go through. I hope you are well!
