Imitate

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. (1 Corinthians 11:1)

Some people are radiant. I admire people with sweet hearts and desire to be like them. Good things usually accompany people with admirable characters. On occasion the jealousy monster attempts to corrupt pure admiration. When this happens, I tell the monster to kick rocks so I can focus on imitating good characteristics. Being a hater will get me nowhere. I’d rather reap the benefits of learning how to improve so I can shine too. Those who are most successful imitate Christ. Imitate good character! (Hebrews 6:12)

  1. I have a favor to ask of you…
Can you create a doodle for the blog I wrote today?
I really want to start an epidemic, and I adore your doodles and would love to have your help.
    Thanks for your consideration.

    • Another great thought, Shannon! You know I want to reblog, right? Okay with you? I hope so…

      Steve 🙂

    • Sure. Are you talking about “The Art of Surrender Day 26: Surrender to your Unique Beauty…then go out and share it!”? What’s your email address? I’m kinda swamped this week. I should be able to do it by the weekend. Did you have any ideas on what you want the doodle to look like?

  2. Reblogged this on The Journey and commented:
The journey on the path of life isn’t quite an easy one. We constantly need to remind ourselves that we are precious first to God, our families and the world. Therefore, being precious means only the best is good enough for each of us and that includes the things and people we imitate in the course of building our individual characters.

  3. We can look around and say “I’d like to be more like this person or that one.” There’s nothing wrong with that at all. But it’s much easier just to imitate the One, Jesus Christ in all that we do. Then we automatically practice the “Best of the best” in everything!

      • So very true. That is our hope in modeling a proper life before others. We hope they will see Christ’s love working in our lives and maybe ask about it.
