But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Mathew 6:33)
It is very easy to get caught up in everyday matters, as well as our personal hopes and dreams, and forget about seeking God’s kingdom and righteousness. I’ve been tempted to worry and doubt God’s ability to take care of me. The holy spirit keeps whispering Mathew 6:33 to me. As I began to meditate on it I realized I’ve been obsessing about the wrong things. I’ve been worrying about my desires and needs when I needed to make my desires line up with God’s desires. God loves me and will always provide what I need. I’m learning to take the focus off me and place it on kingdom things. When we put his kingdom first he freely gives to us (Psalm 37:4, Ephesians 1:3). His righteousness is faith in him (Romans 3:22). Is God’s desire your desire? (Ephesians 1:18-19)
