The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? (Jeremiah 17:9)
I’m sure you’ve made a myriad of decisions based off an emotion. A fleeting, sometimes stubborn, ever changing ball of disaster, often disguised as false bliss. I know I have! The problem with emotions are they’re deceitful. Good and bad alike can cause trouble. The best choices are made when the emotion is pushed to the side. Wise choices have the best interest of everyone and everything involved. Before we act we must calm those excited feelings. We must strive to keep a pure heart despite what we feel. Never trust your emotion!

I agree with the level-headed approach to making decisions. We do have to try as best we can to at least level out the emotions when making decisions, and all the more when those decisions are very important ones. Well done, Shannon!

Very true! Level-headed is a funny term. I never envision heads as level, more like lumpy and weird shaped. Lol!
Now that you mention it, the closest thing to a “level head” I’ve seen is someone with a flat-top haircut!
I almost said a “balanced” emotional state, but I don’t know how many of those I have seen either…Lol!
You sound “spunky” today!
Steve
Lol! Just being me. π
I know…and I like it! You just always be “you!” I’m me, (most of the time)…
π
That’s what I had to do when I chose to get married. Being a strong feeler, I knew I had to make my decision apart from those emotions. And here we are today, 12 years later. π
Awesome! I hope you guys will have enjoy the rest of your lives together.
Thanks π
I remembered what my friend told me about decision-making. She said, “Don’t make decision based on temporary emotion. Remember HALT, Stop when you are Hungry, Angry, Lonely and Tired.”
I think that’s a good advise. Actually I’m following this advise. Hahaha.
I like that! It is so hard to do. I will practice halting. π
wonderful. sometimes the truth does look good.
just saying…
